The title says it all, PREPARATION, its everything. It’s everything, especially in marketing or selling your products. Take the time to plan and prepare. We all know that customers drive our business, and a lot of times, these customers don’t just walk in our doors and place a big order. We need to drive business to our doors. How do we do that? Preparation. Here are some basic tips on what you can do to help prepare yourself each week to bring customers to your doors.

1) GOT A CLIENT LIST? HOW ABOUT POTENTIAL CLIENT LIST? Go through it and decide on which clients or potential clients you will contact, call, email or meet up with. With this list, you can decide on who you are going to make contact with.

2) WEEKLY SALES PLAN – MAKE ONE! Plan out your weekly sales plan. Decide where you are going, what you are going to bring, and who you are going to call. Write it all down. I prefer to make appointments and schedule my sales and my calls each day. Google calendar is a great place to do this.

3) FOLLOW UP. After you have visited clients, called clients. Follow up and make sure you do what you say you are going to. If you tell your client you are going to get back to them with pricing, then do so, and do it quickly. Follow up. So many sales are lost because people simply do not follow up. When you are out and about on your sales calls – write it down, bring it back to the office and follow through.

So, its simple you see. 1, 2 and 3. A very simple plan to potentially gain clients or maintain clients you already have, which will increase your bottom line. When your done with this week, start planning for next week. Make sure you plan your weekly sales plan with a goal in mind that is in line with your company goals.
