As many of you may know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness. According to statistics from www.breastcancer.org, about 1 in 8 U.S. women (about 12.4%) will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime. In 2018, an estimated 266,120 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected to be diagnosed in women in the U.S., along with 63,960 new cases of non-invasive breast cancer. With that being said if you have a business, you have a great opportunity to build your brand, and help find a cure for cancer by creating awareness. Here are six ways that you can do to promote your business, boost your sales, and help women that relates to Breast Cancer Awareness.
Dress in Pink Day - Get the entire company on board with this one. The guys will love it as well (it’s their opportunity to wear pink). Pick a day to wear pink each week. Take photos throughout the month and share on Social Media too. Don’t forget to use some hashtags that will get you more visibility, for example #cancerawareness #breastcancer. Now, another great idea to tag along with this is educate your employees or clients too with bookmarkers. Here’s a educational bookmarker that can be customized with your logo on it with information on early detection of breast cancer. Maybe not everyone has pink apparel, right? Well, for those of you that still want to promote the cause, how about a special pin that your employees can wear each day in October?
Sell Company T-Shirts or Bandanas. Come up with a company design on Breast Cancer Awareness. Heck you could even hold a contest for the design itself! Once you have a design, all you need to do is contact your friends at Dynamic Designs for the printing of these t-shirts or bandanas. In fact, here’s our treat to you for doing this. Just let us know what you are doing, and we’ll provide you free artwork set-up and an additional 10% off your order to help the cause.
Pink Treat Day - Schedule “Pink Treat Day(s)” at your company. Encourage employees to bring “pink” treats, and see what they come up with. From cookies, to candy, to whatever it might be, this is a great opportunity for your employees to get involved. It helps boost moral too.
Change Your Logo to Pink for a Month - Something very simple that you can do to promote Breast Cancer Awareness is to switch up your logo to pink for one month. Think about all of the places that you digitally change your logo; your website, social media profile, even in your email signatures. This can be done company wide, and it’s economical. When people see that you are promoting Breast Cancer Awareness it will create that “warm fuzzy” feeling for those that see your company is involved, and that is a plus for your business, right?
Host A Company Cookout - Provide lunch company wide, call it a “Cook-out for Cancer.” Provide a donation jar at the beginning of the lunch line. It doesn’t have to be just for your employees either, it could be for the public as well. All proceeds go toward cancer research. You could even promote a “Chili Cook-off for Cancer” and hold a tasting contest between employees. Maybe as an added incentive provide aprons for all the chefs. Don’t forget to take photos and share out on social media too.
Pink Promos - It wouldn’t be right if I didn’t mention promos here for promoting Breast Cancer Awareness. At Dynamic Designs Unlimited, we’ve got tons of great ideas for you. One example; a doctor’s office, or clinic that normally has pens on the counter for patients to use could swop out their regular pens for pink pens. Maybe your business is a financial institution or retail shop? Would you like to get clients to stop in? How about giving away pink silicone bracelets with your logo on them when they visit your business in during the month of October? Finally, maybe you have a Salon that sells retail, you could use pink bags with your logo imprinted on them for your retail products. Or as an incentive to purchase retail, promote your retail by offering a free gift with every purchase. The gift could be an emery board, chapstick, comb or hand cream with your logo on it.
These are just a few ways that you can help your company during the month of October, and help out the cause too.
